I was able to write a solid 2 1/2 pages today. After developing decent paragraphs supporting both cases I am genuinely torn at what I think is right.
Also I asked my sister, an 18 year old currently a freshman at IU, if she would answer similar questions to the ones I sent to Ms. Unger and Wes and she said yes but only after she comes home from bloomington. So, I won't be able to include her thoughts in my expository essay but hopefully she can contribute a actual college students perspective in my final draft.
I need to find a non electronic source soon, I thought I could interview the Butler chairman, but my sister said she really wasn't in contact with his son anymore and that it would be "weird." So I guess that is not an option. I am struggling with this because the controversy over the law is pretty recent eliminating many book sources, but also isn't really written about in newspapers that I receive. Hopefully I can find one soon!

like Kenzie, you chose a topic that you can easily relate to and have a clear connection. Because you are going off to college this will be relevant in your life soon. I think this is a smart decision to make in choosing your topic because you will have a strong argument due to the fact that you are someone it effects.

Good luck with that. I can see how that would be hard to find non-electronic sources on a new topic. I'm having a hard time finding sources for my opposition even though the debate has been going on for years, so I can somewhat relate. It's too bad you couldn't interview the Butler chairman, that would have been a really good source. Good luck with your paper, and I'll be interested to see what you find.

I think that your idea to ask similiar questions to your 18 year old sister as you did with wed and unger is a really good idea but i would also ask her different types of questions on top of the others since she is younger. Other than that i think a year persons opinion will really strengthen your essay.

Bailey,
I thought it was a good idea to interview your sister like you did for Mr. Priest and Ms. Unger. This will give you the opinion of a younger age group, one of which the new law would be affecting.
